Craving an old-fashioned hamburger without all the guilt? Our twist takes on a lower-fat protein source – ground turkey, instead of ground beef. Plus, we’ve thrown in some yummy apples for added flavor (and nutrients)!

Make it your own. The best turkey burger recipe should use your favorite toppings. Aim for low calorie veggies such as lettuce, tomatoes, and onions.

  • Level: Easy

  • Prep: 15 minutes

  • Cook: 12 minutes

  • Yield: 4 Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground turkey

  • 1 cup finely minced granny smith and gala apple mixture

  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp. paprika

  • ¼ tsp. sea salt

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup

  • ¼ tsp fresh rosemary, chopped

  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Mix spices, apples, and maple syrup into ground turkey

  1. Form mixture into 4 burgers

  1. Fire up the grill to a medium-high heat. (Don’t want to use a grill? You can swap for a skillet on a stovetop)

  1. Cook on one side for 5-7 minutes

  1. Flip and cook on the other side for another 4-5 minutes (or until a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees )

  1. Serve with your choice of toppings on a whole grain bun

  1. Enjoy!
